The existing &#8216;First Mile&#8217; testbed infrastructure was expanded into the IN-Campus to create a test environment for digital mobility applications. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A special focus is placed on testing a complex roundabout as a test environment. High-performance sensors such as traffic cameras and LiDAR systems capture the surroundings and create a detailed digital image. The acquired information is exchanged in real time between infrastructure, vehicles, and vulnerable road users. This allows warning messages or driving recommendations to be issued and innovative lighting concepts to be implemented.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure fast and reliable data processing and communication, 5GoIng relies on Cellular-V2X direct communication and edge computing. These technologies make it possible to manage traffic flows more efficiently, detect critical situations early, and thus increase road safety. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the project also addresses overarching issues of connected mobility. These include topics such as Smart City, road safety, and sustainability, as well as societal aspects like the acceptance of new technologies and inter-municipal cooperation. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By combining state-of-the-art 5G technology and intelligent infrastructure, 5GoIng makes an important contribution to the further development of the Ingolstadt mobility region. The project serves as a model for connected mobility solutions that can also be applied in other regions in the future. <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter
