IN4H2 – Hydrogen Concept Ingolstadt
Within the framework of the IN4H2 funding project, the technical and economic feasibility of introducing hydrogen mobility in municipal vehicle fleets in conjunction with local hydrogen production was investigated between 2019 and 2022. For this purpose, the framework conditions for establishing a hydrogen infrastructure in the region were analyzed and key data from all project participants were collected in order to create the prerequisites for implementing the concept. The results of the project and the developed roadmap for the gradual introduction of local hydrogen mobility and production are summarized in a project final report that is publicly accessible.
The regional structures that have emerged in the field of hydrogen technology are now being continued and expanded. For example, there is still regular exchange to advance the initiated activities, established relationships, and emerging project ideas, and to promote the development of expertise.
The “Hydrogen Cluster Region 10,” launched in March 2024, is also intended to improve the networking of numerous stakeholders from business, science, authorities, and municipalities around hydrogen within the region in the future. The districts of Eichstätt, Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, and Pfaffenhofen, as well as the city of Ingolstadt, have agreed on their future intensive collaboration for this purpose. The goal is to actively network the stakeholders of Region 10 and inform them about important technological, economic, and legal trends and framework conditions, creating various information and event offerings. The complete value chain, from hydrogen production through electrolysis, to various storage and transport options, to application in different areas within the region, is to be represented.
The “Hydrogen Cluster Region 10” is intended to cover the following points in the future:
- Support for public relations work
- Establishment of a competence network of companies, associations, municipalities, and science
- Identification of project ideas
- Implementation of cross-regional projects
- Promotion of acceptance and educational work among the population and companies
- Consulting and support for funding applications
- Consolidation of interests and concerns
